P&O Cruises have long been known to be experts in the industry when it comes to cruises based in and around Britain, and with the announcement of their itineraries for summer/autumn 2012, this is likely to remain true. P&O are putting on a very impressive 148 departures for the UK’s favourite port, Southampton.

The itineraries announced are mainly based in Europe with Mediterranean cruises always proving to be very popular for this particular cruise line, especially as there is no flying involved. Many British people looking to go on a cruise like the idea of not having to fly to the departure port beforehand, but still being able to go far enough away to enjoy a bit of sun! Let’s face it, there are no guarantees when it comes to the weather in Britain!

Cruises to Britain are becoming more and more popular with travelers from all countries, and with big events being held such as “the Royal Wedding” and the Olympics, it is likely that even more people will be choosing Britain as their holiday destination in the near future. That’s great news for the country in these tough economic times, and cruise holidays in particular bring a lot of money into the areas which the ships dock.

If you are interested in a cruise from Southampton, there are some fab cruise deals around on the run up to the holiday season, so you can really bag yourself a bargain. Who could say no to a bit of sunshine without the hassle of the airport?
